So how did a native of Scotland with a background in Salmon Farming end up in South Georgia Selling Real Estate? I was born in Scotland and worked in various professions before becoming Sales Manager for a Multi-National Salmon Farming Company based in England. My husband's job brought us to the States in 1991 and we built our home in a small town (Hiawassee) in the North Georgia Mountains. While volunteering with the Chamber of Commerce, I was approached by a Real Estate company with offices in both Georgia and North Carolina to act as Office Manager. I attainted by Real Estate License in November 1997. I love being a Realtor, it was a natural progression for me as I thrive on meeting new people and new challenges.
In 2000 my husband and I decided to take a year out. We sold our house, put our furniture in storage, bought a 40ft. Sail Boat and took off for the Bahamas! It was a wonderful experience. We met so many interesting people with the same passion for sailing.
I came to St. Simons Island in 2002 to visit a friend and fell in love with this little Island. I was also fortunate enough to be introduced to Joan Lewis, who comes from a Real Estate family and has been a very successful Realtor for almost 30 years. I became Joan's assistant and in 2006 we became business partners. We work diligently to meet the needs of both buyer and seller and do so with moral character and ethical practices.
